Why Impact?
Home To All Athletes
We strive to be more than a place of volleyball for our athletes. We strive to be a second family and a second home. We offer club activities to engage in the community and social event for our players. We take the time to get to know each of our players on a personal level and build meaningful relationships that last long after volleyball. Our doors are always open to our athletes to get extra training, including former alumni that need a place to practice when they come home from college or just want to pick up a semi-competitive game of volleyball.

Master Training/ Position Training
The goal of Master Training is to give all athletes the same opportunity to learn and develop and will provide consistency from coach to coach and team to team within our club. Each athlete will be a priority and their training will be overseen by Director, Aireka Wright. All of our athletes will receive quality training regardless of age, level, or division. Each age group has a mentor coach (most experienced coaches) to oversee quality practices and training. There will be a focus on specific positions at master training sessions, as well as team oriented training. Players receive one additional hour a week on top of regular team practices to work specifically on two designated positions as we never pigeon hole players into only one position.

Strength, Agility, Jump Training
We prepare our athletes with more intensive training at the beginning of the season and maintain that training throughout the JO season. Players will participate in a 3 week preseason conditioning program designed to build strength, improve footwork speed and teach proper jump mechanics to improve players' verticals. Impact provides our member athletes with free access to the facility to workout during club hours and discounted rates during non-club hours.
College Recruitment
We help our athletes who are interested in playing in college through the entire recruitment process. We use a program that allows our players to contact college coaches and build a recruiting profile that colleges can access. It is our goal to help our athletes find a college that best fits their interests and skill level.

Team Bonding/ Volunteering
The team that plays together wins together! We start our season with a themed kick off party. The players and coaches are tasked with coming up with a theme for their team to wear to the party, sometimes before they've even met each other in person. The evening continues with the parents and players getting to know each other with fun activities and it sets the stage for a season filled with camaraderie and fun!
Every season we give the teams a checklist of things to be accomplished. Most of them are not volleyball related, but more so fun or community related. The players plan a team dinner and a sleepover. Older players mentor a younger team and assist with learning how to down ref, line judge and keep the score book. The players need to come up with a prank to play on their coach. We also ask the teams to complete a community service project, some of which have been working at the Akron Canton food bank, volunteering at the humane society, putting together Easter baskets for kids in the custody of Child Services, and volunteer coaching kids in the greater Akron Rec volleyball league. There is so much more to life than volleyball and we strive to make sure our players know how to have fun and give back to our community.
Our end of the season banquet caps off our season with getting dressed up, a nice dinner and awards. Lots of photos and lots of hugs are all part of the evening as the players get ready to start open gyms for their school seasons. Our players work hard all season long and it is important to celebrate their accomplishments

Fundraising
The days of neighborhood little league and recreational sports has seemingly disappeared for kids, replaced by year round training programs and travel sports. It doesn't matter which sport you choose, it will be both a time commitment and a financial commitment. Every year Impact has offered a fundraiser to help you offset the costs for JO volleyball. The money raised is for your player, not the club, and can be used towards fees, spirit wear, hotels and travel expenses. This year, we are looking to start a fundraising committee which will look into a variety of options throughout the season. Past fundraisers have included candles, serve-a-thons and pepperoni rolls. We are definitely doing pepperoni rolls again!
